About Counselling
Receiving counselling should be a life changing experience, can be hard work and needs acknowledging as so. I aim to create a therapeutic environment where a rapport is established with warmth and compassion. Using yours, the client's, frame of reference and language is important to encourage an openness, be non-directive, collaborative and ensure there is equality in the room.
Depending upon the method of counselling chosen, how long you want it to last may vary the route taken, but the process is the same:
We will talk of a journey, one which you will not travel alone. We will travel it together, at your speed and with my help.
Please note
I am not a couples, group or family counsellor and so do not offer these services. Whilst I am not a child counsellor, I will see young people from 16.
I can and will see those with a physical disability, but unfortunately not at my home which has steps up to it. Hopefully we can come to an arrangement over a suitable meeting place, or I can offer a home visit.
I currently offer Supervision to students, volunteers or qualified counsellors and supervisors. We will work together to fulfil requirements for your regulatory body; work/educational organisation and your own personal needs.
